1:HIROSHIMA PEACE MEMORIAL (Hiroshima-ken = Map: violet area) *World Heritage The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is located in the center in Hiroshima. In 1945, the U.S. Forces dropped the atomic bomb to Hiroshima. And many people died, and destroyed Hiroshima completely. In 1954, it prayed for the peace in the world and the park was built. There are The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Atomic Bomb Dome(photo), The Memorial Cenotaph, Peace Bell and Atomic Bomb Memorial Mound...etc. |

2:FUSHIMI INARI (Kyoto-fu = Map: black area) Fushimi Inari is one of the Sinto Shrine. Fushimi Inari was founded in the 8th century. Object of worship is Mt. INARI behind a shrine. There are the HONDEN(main shrine), HAIDEN, ROUMON(Two-storied gate),....etc in the precincts of a shrine. Especially a famous thing is about 10,000 torii.(Photo) |

3:TODAIJI TEMPLE (Nara-ken = Map: black area) *World Heritage Todaiji Temple is located in Nara-ken, and it was built in the 8th century. The Buddha statue about 15 meters high is installed in "KONDO". The big Buddha statue is called "DAIBUTSU". You can see the wooden structure .... "NANDAI-MON", NIGATSUDO", "SANGATSUDO", "GOJU-NO-TO(Five-storied pagoda)" etc.....which is historically worthy And there are many deers. |

4:ITSUKUSHIMA SHINTO SHRINE (Hiroshima-ken = Map: violet area) *World Heritage The Itsukushima Shinto Shrine is located in Miyajima, Hiroshima-ken. It is not so far from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Itsukushima Shinto Shrine was founded in 593, an object of worship is Itsukushima island HONDEN(main shrine), HAIDEN, KAIROU(Corridor) are designated as the national treasure. A Itsukushima Shrine seems to have floated on the sea. Miyajima is called one of the three most famous views in Japan along with Amanohashidate and Matsushima. |

5:KINKAKUJI TEMPLE (Kyoto-fu = Map: black area) *World Heritage The true name of the Kinkakuji Temple is "Rokuon-ji". Gold leaf is stuck on the exterior and interir of a building. In Japanese language, Gold is called "KIN". so, it also came to be called the Kinkakuji Temple. Kyoto is a historic town with 1200 years of history and there are many Temple and Shinto Shrine. The Kinkakuji is a one of the most famous of them. |
